What are the most effective treatments for Mollusucum Contagiosum?

On these days, after 3 months of overcoming the molluscum nightmare that my family and me went trough, I had the opportunity to meet another fighter like me… her name is Sara Bright from Minesota.  She has being fighting molluscum contagiosum for outmost 6 months… After a lot of doctors and after a lot wasted money… She finally decided to start reasearching for herself… So she had the oportunity to test a few products from the internet for molluscum contagiosum… And these is what she got for us:

Thankyou Sara for sharing this with us.

I just want to say that you have to be very carefull with all the products that you find on the internet for this virus. Anyway i’m giving you this options so you can read and decide wich sounds more convincent to you… Here are the products that i could find and had the oportunity to try beacuse of my personal battle again my son’s molluscum.

Emuaid (Extract from the emu bird)

  1. Hi Lorena, I’ve made a little research and asked some people trough twitter, and most of the people used Conzerol cream, some people say that the cream has an ugly color, and it’s sticky, but it seems to be the most effective. I will order one tube today and find out what kind of product this is. I will keep you informed.

    Best Regards

  2. Conzerol only seemed to make the bumps get smaller but never goes away. We put it on three times a day. Almost through a tube it has been almost 2 months. Has anyone else had any luck?

  3. My three year old has had mulluscum for 9 months now and has about 50 bumps. Its horrible. My five year old has it now and she has 7 bumps on her arms. We have tried beetle juice (also known as calderone) and it is very very painful. We have had them scrapped off and that is very tramatic. We have been using zymaderm and zymaderm HP for 3 months with little results. I just ordered my first tube of conzerol and I am praying praying for results. This virus has been torturing my life. I just had a baby two months ago and i am crazy about preventing him from getting this. My two girls love their brother and all they want to do is hold him and this virus gets in the way. Of course I let them hold him but only with long sleeves and I make them wash their hands constantly. I cry every day over this virus. It is really starting to effect my girls socially and emotionally.

    1. If you get any results, good or bad with Conzerol, please share it us. Best wishes and all the luck in the world for you.

  4. Hello.. This is a nightmare and it seems like there’s no end to this.. I tried tea tree oil (two drops of tea tree oil mixed with quarter cup of sesame oil, cause the tea tree is very strong when it’s alone) I have 5 bumps on my face and 7 on the body.. I don’t see any change. I don’t wanna try the ACV because I don’t wanna have scars on my face… I don’t know what to do. There’s one doctor who said he has a treatment by mixing plants into a remedy which I should take orally.. Have anyone tried this?

    1. Hello A, i’ve did tried Tea tree oil, and wasn’t good for me… So I wouldn’t recommend it at all, it’s a waste of time. Hope it helps 🙂

      1. So what did u do? What did help you? I’m so frustrated!!!! I just don’t know what to do anymore!!:((((

      2. Hi,
We have been battling this for a year. We have tried it all. We are now going back for our third beetle juice (cantharone) treating from my pediatric dermatologist. We tried Aldera and it did not work. We’ve conzerol and it works. More were popping up before the old ones would go away. They are a great company though. I would recommend you try conzerol cause it is pain free. The beetle juice if you try it. She is healing now cause we just went Tuesday but no complaints after the first day. I would recommend doing 10 at a time. Good luck. This sucks. Oh and I find showers are better than baths. Oh and zymaderm did not work. Went through four bottles before we gave up.

      3. The doctor that treats kids with molluskum with plants told me that he makes the remedy himself from plants. He told me that there’s no cream that can help me from the outside because the Molluskum is a virus which lives inside our blood, hence we should treat him from the inside of our body, and he should prepare pills for me, a bit different from the kids’ pills because I’m adult. He’s a doctor and he succeeded treating 8 kids..Does it sound familiar? Thanks!!

  5. My pediatrician told us that the virus is so superficial the body noes not recognize there is an infection, which is why the body doesn’t fight it so well. We’ve tried a blistering agent (tells the body something is wrong and induces an immune response) and after 2 treatments it seems the infection is spreading (blisters=irritation=itching=spreading of virus). However, there is evidence that the body has now recognized the virus and some of the lesions are healing on their own (without blistering agent applied). Process can take months to years to fix itself. I’m going to try the Conzerol. Will post an update in a few weeks.

  6. I have a 4 yr old who has had molluscum for 6 months. I have tried emuaid, that seemed to make them smaller but never went away. I took him to the derm. and they applied cantherone (blistering agent) the blister lifts the wart off the skin and cuts off the blood supply to the wart. Also they said it should trigger the immune system to fight the virus where cantharone is applied. Was very expensive $100 each visit for application. So I went online and found co. in Canada to ship it too me. You cannot get as RX in states because it is dangerous/toxic if ingested… you must be very carefull to keep out of reach of children, and you dont want to apply to healthy skin. you dab it on with the wood side of a qtip. I did notice that some of the warts scabbed over and went away leaving just an area lighter in pigment. however I did notice new warts would appear before the others were gone. Some warts take several treatments. Resistant warts should be covered with non pourus tape for 4-6 hrs. I am going to keep trying this treatment as it seems to be the only thing that works even in the slightest. This virus is very frusterating and just noticed a couple appearing on his cheek. Trying to decide if I should apply the cantharone to his cheek. I wish I knew if there was something out there that could help the immune system fight off this virus. It is a pox virus, wonder if it has to do with our kids never getting chicken pox because of vaccinating?? I dont remember this virus as a kid ever… Just very frusterated like every other mom. So worried about my friends kids getting this from my son!!!

  7. Molutrex was my solution. The base substance is 5%(concentration) potassium hydroxyde and it chemically burns. The burn is not deep and does not leave scars but it looks ugly and scary. Also the treatment is slow and in many cases you have to go back because the virus reappeared in the cured places. I fought Molluscum Contagiosum 3 months now and I still fight it but this just works. Always use white LED light (LED flashlights) to observe the skin because the bumps start very very small under 1 millimeter diameter and very pale but visible in white LED light. Inspect every square inch of skin and look at the same spot from different angles and you will prevent virus spreading since you can detect it early stage. The other thing about Molluscum Contagiosum EARLY AND DIFFICULT TO OBSERVE bumps is that they are a little risen up from the skin level. Recap: they are small in diameter, pale collor (small color difference from skin color) and they are risen from skin level just a tiny bit.
The big ones are obvious and do not need this detective detection.

  8. Hi, interesting blog. Thanks for putting it online. My wife and I have been wrestling with molluscum for many months now. Tried loads of different treatments. Best by far has been apple cider vinegar and a product we found online called Mollenol. It is fairly new I think and in the space of a few weeks has eliminated most of the remaining molluscum bumps we both have. We also had to change the way we washed (no soap bars for example, only liquid soap), how we dried, washing towels every day, etc, etc. All very difficult but if you see pictures on the net of how bad molluscum can get, all worth it! Good luck to all.

  9. Zymaderm helps with the discomfort but does not seem to make it go away. We tried the Conzerol, went through the tube. It irritated the molloscum bumps created swelling and caused twice as many bumps then when we started. The Conzerol also made them more painful for our 5 year old daughter. We just ordered emuaidmax. Hopefully it will work :(. I feel your pain.

    1. Zymaderm is a good option as well but i think that only for cases where the molluscum virus is not that resistan. About the Conzerol. We certanly have received comments about the swelling, and must people say that it is normal, and just after that the bumps will begin to shrink. I also think that they say that in their website also, please let us know how is it going with emuaidmax

  10. My daughter was diagnosed with molluscum in January. We didn’t treat it as her pedi trains said wait to see how it is in 6 months since the treatments are so bad. We took her to a dermatologist who had us try iquimod first. After a month, we moved on to freezing the molluscum so they could be “popped”. We had to wait 2 months until the next appointment. In the mean time, the molluscum continued to spread. It was all over her arms back, stomach and legs. The derm expected it to away. He said it typically does after the first treatment. School was more frustrated. Than we were.. It was September and still over 80 and they wanted her to wear long sleeves and long pants. I did research and found emuaid. In 2 weeks, they have all started to pop. Her arms are almost clear. I expect in 2 weeks she will be clear.

  11. I am using my husband account to post this. Our 11 year old daughter is suffering from the Molluscum. Due to bad infection, wee have been in ER one time, then saw dermatologist several times. The ER said no scratching. Dermatologist said no worry about the infection and scratching them is OK. We watch our daughter very carefully and prevented her from scratching. But she scratched while she was sleeping. Now she has all over her body. We are desperately looking for solution. My husband has sever health problem who has very weak immune system. I am so worried about spreading to him. Has anybody has good result by using Conzerol? Please share your positive solutions. We appreciate your advice so much!!

  12. What about combining treatments? Alternating Tea Tree oil with Conzerol cream. I may try that for my 3 yr. old.
